Overview:
Zero Nerve Response is everything from aggressive rock, to power pop, to acoustic ballads. The four members are a mixed collection of experienced players and up and coming musicians. The combination of such a line boasts strong rhythms and melodies, driven by a very versatile drummer, solid guitar players, and strong lyrics. The guys all have a similar taste in music, and that ever forward attitude to do anything and everything to make the songs work. From electric to acoustic, from atmospheric to edgy, the music is emotional, powerful, and colorful.
History:
The first recording of original songs was done by Tom, Wil, and Gary in January 2006, under the name Radioactive Reality.
Tom and Wil wrote the songs for the studio project demo. Tom played in Sterling Park (a previous band) with Gary, and asked him to lay down the drums tracks for the demo. It was later decided to form a live band to rehearse the new songs. Derek met Gary through a Myspace ad and joined the band in April 2006.
The band became Zero Nerve Response in mid-2006. The name came from a doctor’s diagnosis of the nerve damage caused from Wil’s back injury. Also, it was chosen for it’s catchy abbreviation (ZNR). This name was an instant agreement amongst the band members.
