- How do I enter?
All entries are online at cfox.supernova.com.
- How does Seeds work this year?
Seeds 2012 begins taking entries on Friday, April 13th until Friday May 18th at 11:59pm.
Fan voting for the Fan Choice Band begins Monday, May 21st at 3pm.
The Top 19 bands (decided by Fox Vancouver Seeds industry judges) are announced Friday, June 1st at 6pm and fan voting for band 20 (Fan Choice Band) continues until Sunday, June 10th at 11:59pm.
The Fan Choice Band will be announced Monday, June 11th at 6pm. Over 8 nights, the Top 20 bands will perform live in front of industry judges. Three winners will be chosen based on these Live showcases.
- When is the last day I can enter?
Friday, May 18th 2012 at 11:59pm (Local Vancouver time).
- Do I have to be 19 to enter?
Yes. All members of your band must be 19 years or older.
- What will I be judged on?
Songwriting, stage presence, musicianship, Originality, Marketability.
- What if I work at Long & McQuade?
You can still enter. This year no judges on the Seeds 2012 panel have any affiliation with Long & McQuade.
- How do I win Listener Choice Band?
Receive the most votes from the Fan community on cfox.supernova.com from Monday, May 21st - Sunday, June 10th. Bands who communicate and rally their fans to be active online will have the best chance to get the most votes. Social media including videos are great ways to gain fan momentum.
- What do I win this year if my band wins the Platinum Award?
- For the first year ever Fox Vancouver Seeds sends you out on the road. Your band will tour with Juno award winners the Arkells for 5 Canadian shows.
- $10,000 in brand new gear from Long & McQuade.
- A 5 song EP produced by super producer Gggarth Richardson.
- Your record distributed by Maple Music.
- Songwriting sessions with Steve Bays of Hot Hot Heat.
- $5,000 tour support from The Fox.
- Full radio play on The Fox
- Promotional support for all of your local live shows from the Fox for 1 year.
- What do I need to enter?
All entries at cfox.supernova.com must include 3 original songs, a band photo(s) and info about your band.
