Irena Perkovic’s new solo Pop/Jazz project, REENIE, marks a re-genesis as a Canadian artist: it flays open the heart of her songs to expose their core feelings. From high-energy grooves to intimate ballads; from fresh, original tunes to the occasional tasty cover; Reenie's performances hold something for everyone. An immersion in blues, as well as an upbringing in Toronto’s rock scene, and the music and culture of her birthplace, the former Yugoslavia, created a bi-cultural artist.
