I am a guitarist with a career experience of over 2 decades.
I started playing at the age of 7. I was taught through Millers school of music in Winnipeg by a teacher Doug Ketchenson who was a mentor and someone who noticed extreme potential in me. I took lessons over the next 7 years and accomplished my Grade 12 practical through the school and also took ear training, theory and music composition and went trough the Western Conservatory program.
I achieved Grade 8 practical and grade 4 theory through conservatory exams.
By High school I was in the full academic program and majored in music. A teacher Zane Zalis who directed the music program through Miles MacDonnell Collegiate pushed me to new limits. I was in the full music and music composition classes as well as being in the Jazz band and all workshops. I went further to play in Provincial jazz competitions and played with the Ron Paley band for 2 years. I graduated from high school with full academic diploma and many awards for my music endeavors.
With all my education and knowledge I went on to form my first band and played the local original circuit for 3 years from 1991 to 1994 ending with a short 5 date tour opening up for Pink Floyd. I continued to work full time and have band projects and then in 1998 after taking a metal fabrication course and achieving a certificate I went back in the studio and formed another band which had 2 albums and a year long tour. Upon returning I went back in the workforce and have been playing weekends ever since in many top 40 cover bands and operate my own studio.
I am specialized in Classical, Jazz, Blues and Rock and alternatives. and have quite the education and skills to teach and share and I look forward to putting my 20 years of experience as a studio guitarist/recording artist/teacher together to further my career.
