Friction Project is a Vancouver based power trio featuring Jon Roper, Frank Baker and K Mitchell. Together they unleash a collection of solid tunes that explore hard rock and the blues with just a touch of prog mixed in. Written by Roper, the material covers topics ranging from good old fashioned partying and getting it on (Nothing Like You) and the power hit The Show, a tale about the trials of the road brought to life by pumping rhythms, a killer riff and a chorus that is guaranteed to stick in your head. Backed by years of live and studio experience, this trio is an explosive collaboration. The foundation of the band is laid down by powerhouse drummer Frank Baker, who has worked with #1 Billboard recording artist Nick Gilder his inventive and energetic drumming locks in with K Mitchell’s dirty bass and provides a tight back end for the band. Up front is Jon Roper, a virtual guitar monster, whose rhythmic screaming guitar and raucous vocals are what give Friction Project its sound.
