Underage drinking is BAD!!! But its ok once you turn 18. Then you are DEFINITELY responsible enough to drink and handle yourselves properly. Just look at the lack of bar fights and complete absence of drunk driving.

Hola everyone, so what is the deal with the wild card vote? I pushed it out and looks like I won, what does that mean, no nationals? Oh and to some who might be upset about the fact that I had the most vote but didn't even play. I was the only act who was canceled due to what I hear underage drinking and had to close the competition early. Not that I would have won, I've heard that the acts who performed put on a great show and deserve to win, but I didn't get that chance and so the next best thing is to win the wild card vote.....and thank you all who voted!

The show was obviously geared towards more high-energy acts, not acoustic sets. A lot of bands did some songs quieter, but still varied in intensity, while AFS' sound is inherently low-energy. Nothing against acoustic acts, but the judges just weren't looking for that kinda stuff.
And Soma, we don't appreciate your pudding propaganda in this environment. Please, take it somewhere more appropriate.

to a fallen september,

my interpretation of what something like "too quiet" would mean from a judges perspective wouldnt have much to do with volume, i think it is more to do with energy. maybe next time try your set standing! it really helps convey emotion and power with more energy...making it a "louder" performance, in a sense.

thats my two cents.

much love.

also, there is a comment here that i must refute... soma. i must say...i do not like pudding. i do not like it one little bit.

Hmm thats a good point, but maybe they meant quiet in a more literal sense, maybe at that moment your volume was low and they misinterpreted it, im not sure. But in all honesty, C.T.S. that made my day <3

Good morning everyone! Everyone's comments are so entertaining to read. The drama is just fantastic!!! On a lighter note:

"The college professor had just finished explaining an important research project to his class. He emphasized that this paper was an absolute requirement for passing his class, and that there would be only two acceptable excuses for being late.

Those were a medically certifiable illness or a death in the student's immediate family.

A 'smart' student in the back of the classroom waved his hand and spoke up. 'But what about extreme sexual exhaustion, professor?' As you would expect, the class exploded in laughter. When the students had finally settled down, the professor froze the young man with a glaring look.

'Well,' he responded, 'I guess you'll just have to learn to write with your other hand.'"

I'm kind of shocked with the judges too. These bands did amazing and deserve to win. But are the judges really judging correctly? During our set my girl friend heard them talking and she said they said that they didn't like our music cause it was to quite. (We were the only acoustic band) I don't think it should be judged on quiet or loud. Our style music is melo, soft, and just simply acoustic. Should it not be judged on how well it was for the style of music? I don't want to go play what everyone else plays. If I have to play the style everyone else plays to win, I just won't win and ill be happy with myself.
