Hey Guys! Sorry it took...well...forever...but the wildcard has been posted! With the updated website and all the cheating we had to shift through it took a bit longer than I would have liked, so I'm sorry for keeping you hanging :) After the tally The Apresnos and Nestor's Landing came out on top, and since it was so close I decided to give it to both! So hopefully you are all happy and again, I am sorry it took so long.

So does Supernova make up the wildcard vote just as a joke to all the fans and bands? OR are you guys going to actually get shit done and post the results? What does it matter.. I'm pretty sure most of the bands who played that night hate your company by now.. Heh. Everything I was told about Supernova.. was totally true lol. Fucking corporation who makes their money off the bands and the fans. IS THAT MUSIC? no. Fuck you, Supernova.

i have nothing against swearing but, they were not suppost to have swearing in the songs yet most of the songs did? did i miss something? in the regulations it states no swearing, so in this case do we just ignore those rules? I think you can still have a great song with no swearing, its just a little harder

There certainly could be improvement in how the show is run. But I know from personal experience how hard it is. The main problem I see is that the bands were just terrible. With such a poor product there is not really that much the organisers can do. There should be strict rules regarding profanity and bands should be screened more thoroughly. Those things could help.

Ok not to come across as an @$$ but honestly, Supernova said that the winner was decided on A) Stage Presence B) Originality C) Songwriting
Or something along those lines. But the bands that were chosen were the complete opposite in my opinion.
Tessitura is a good band for what they do, there is no doubt about that. But honestly, the bassist stood perfectly still the WHOLE time, and the lead singer/guitarist barely moved at all, just some headbanging and what not. On originality, neither the first or second place bands had that much of it. Actually Tessitura sounded like a very high percent of "Viking Metal" bands do, that might not be what they are, but sounded like it a lot in the riffing and overall construction of songs.
Not to bash your choices of bands or anything, I just find it kinda ridiculous how your final chosen bands varied greatly from the criteria you said you were looking for in your winning bands.
One more thing, why not even a small soundcheck? How retarded is that?! Now I know it would be hard to sound check every one of those like 16 bands or whatever, but everyone should show up a bit before the show, just get set-up quickly for levels and make sure that at least everyone could hear each other. When I played there, I couldn't hear ANY of my band members through my monitor, only me. I was told there was gunna be a house amp I could use, but when I got there I was told it broke, and like, overall the sound and mixing was just awful in my opinion. Now please Supernova if you read this, this is not bashing you guys or calling you out, it's just some constructive criticism on your judging and overall mixing/sound. I felt that the judging was unfair and that the sound could have been done A LOT better than it was. I hope the show on the 18th of April is a lot better, because to be honest I was disappointed. Before the show (even if it's not a band testing this) each monitor should be checked to see if each band member is coming through it or whatever, and make sure the levels are set right, I think you need a different sound guy for the next show, or at least make this one get his stuff right, because the sound was just terrible until like the last few bands.

So, is it normal Supernova practice to charge the bands for shit that the Supernova sound guy broke? In case you didn't notice, YOUR sound guy was in charge of the volume, not the bands. That's so fucking cheap.Ever wonder why Supernova has such a terrible name amongst bands? For reasons like this...ps - Your sound guy for this show sucked balls. It's his fault the speaker blew. Why not make him own up and pay for what he broke, due to his own retardedness...?just sayin.
