TRIBUNE was started in June of 2004 in Campbell River, B.C. on Vancouver Island. The original members; Jason Brown (drums), Terrence Anderson (lead guitar), Bryan Baker (vocals) and Jess Garner (bass); started writing for their first demo album titled, “Home Sweet Hell”, a D.I.Y. project completed in 2005.
In 2005, bassist Jess Garner left the band, soon replaced by current bassist Ryan O’Shea, a long time friend of the band. The band moved to Courtenay, B.C. for one year to prepare for the next big move, Vancouver B.C.
The band moved into a house together and started on their challenging entry into the scene in Vancouver, they made friends with local promoters and bands to get their foot in the door. After a year the band recruited a long time friend and fellow room-mate, Shawn Culley, as their second lead guitarist. Now a five piece with dynamic sound, and an extensive range of different genres in music; specializing in metal.
Four and a half years later, the band has played just over fifty shows, including two consecutive years on the bill of the B.C. metal show, which featured many great bands such as, Three Inches of Blood, Mendozza, and many more. In the bands time between tours, shows and recording they practice three to four nights a week for two to three hours religiously
In January of 2009, TRIBUNE completed their first professional recording at Earart Studios, and a three song demo of the newest and heaviest songs. The band is constantly growing musically and professionally, extending out in every direction using Vancouver as their home base. And will be doing extensive shows and many tours in the future.
