Nobody Likes Dwight

Nobody Likes Dwight, is a three piece, grudgingly self categorized, hard rock band based out of Edmonton, Alberta. With over sixty-five years of experience, NLD boasts influences ranging from rock and punk to jazz, country and the blues. This results in a loud, proud and ultimately unique rock sound. NLD strives to be a truly original rock act. Nobody Likes Dwight is in the process of completing material for their debut CD scheduled for a spring 2010 release. While songwriters Phil Murphy and Brian Ryder enjoy the freedom that studio work provides, with respect to experimenting with sounds and styles, it is truly the live energy of NLD that captures the hearts and minds of their fans. Phil and Brian met in 1987 in Lindsay, Ontario. They began writing songs and performing at local events early and often. During an eighteen year period where Phil moved west, Brian enjoyed some success with Toronto based group, The Fheds and his solo project, The Larry Bobarti Experience. Phil also enjoyed some success in Edmonton with such groups as Cerveja and The Phil Murphy Band. Meeting once again over the internet from opposite sides of the country Phil and Brian working with drummer Dave Zalinko developed an hour and thirty minutes of original rock intensity, incomparable to most of today?s popular music, yet unavoidably intriguing and desirable.
