Laura-Lee Gerwing

Hey there, my name is Laura-Lee Gerwing and I would love love love to be apart of the 2010 Vancouver Seeds. I have been writing songs since I was about 16yrs old and over the past year have taught myself to play guitar. Music has always been a huge part of my life, my dad especially has been a huge inspiration to me and I have learnt a lot of what I know about song writing and playing guitar from him. Back in his younger days he played with the likes of Mike Reno from Loverboy and had numerous bands, he still rock and rolls today! If I had to categorize my music I guess I would call it a mix between Indie, folk and chick music. Over the years I have drawn inspiration from singers such as Bif Naked, Led Zeppelin, Sara Harmer, Liz Phair and Lucinda Williams. The 3 songs I have entered, I wrote the lyrics and the guitar track. I would love to collaborate with other musicians to add more to the songs but have not got that far...yet, as I have just recently in my young age of 30 have grown the courage to play and sing in front of others (Love it, scares the shit out of me but love it, its a rush). Its a terrifying thing to put your whole heart and soul out there on a platter for people to listen to and judge. But ya know, I have nothing to loose or to hide and in this life I believe you need to do the things that scare you the most, they end up being the most rewarding in so many ways. So here I am, me and my music for you to judge....take it or leave it, I appreciate your time!
