We are LONEKING! A three piece alternative rock band born out of Montreal, which formed in November of 2011. We play a variety of styles, with influences from the Beatles and Coldplay, to Asian Kung Fu Generation and Ellegarden, to Dream Theater and Hey Rosetta!. With a mix like that, we're sure you haven't heard something quite like us!
The three of us have been performing for 2 years with Project B, which performed cover songs in the Montreal region. In 2011, we decided to branch out with our own original material.
From a very young age, Tak has always had a strong interest in music, began his journey with humble beginnings playing the trombone and singing. He brings us a strong classical foundation of music and is our talented multi-instrumentalist, able to play guitar, bass, while carrying the lead vocals at the same time. He is heavily influenced by classic rock such as the Beatles.
Tony took the irregular path to music. At the young age of 7, Tony was forced by his parents into playing piano, of which he tried for a year before finally quitting. That probably should have been the end, but instead, his late-found love for j-rock music drew him into realizing his true calling - playing guitar. Now living a double life in both science and music, Tony draws his biggest influences from his favourite j-rock bands, 'Ellegarden' and 'Asian Kung Fu Generation'.
Wilson, also known as "the metronome", started playing drums in high school. He is an experienced drummer who has played in a number of bands before joining LONEKING. Wilson is an avid fan of metal music, drawing his influences from Dream Theater and prog metal.
