I am 20 years old,(danny keehn) and I have just recently moved to the island in search of a new recording contract and manager. I won a songwriting contest called Best in the West, hosted by Tal Bachman, about four months ago and was given professional recording time and radio time on Astro media. The song that won the contest was called Whiskey Sunrise. It was written over three years ago and I was not sure it was even a song worth keeping, but my soon to be producers at Rootworx recording studios in Terrace and a few others told me to enter it into the contest. Shortly after winning the contest a documentary producer approached me. He had heard one of my songs on a demo and wanted it for his movie about anorexia titled 36 24 36. I accepted and was shortly after recommended to Socan Canada. Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada. Now I'm here on the island writing for this new record with my new band Fairweather Father. We are a group of young guys with a bright future in our musical adventures :) hope you guys like the songs we have worked so hard on! :)
Anthony Sharkey (lead guitar, age 19) spent most of his life growing up on the island. Has been musically influenced by thousands of musicians like the rest of us and started playing guitar at the age of 12. His sharp intellect and ear for music has lead him into a very respectable and promising career in producing and as a guitarist his sharp ear and creativity shows with this band and almost anything he touches musically.
David Buchanan (Bass) Grew up on the island, a student in the jazz program at VIU. David is an excellent bass player, his talents are way above what Fairweather Father calls for. All I can say is the kid is 18 and he can play to virtually anything.
Dave Sayers. (drums) a little older then the rest of us, Dave sayers is one of the best session drummers I have met so far. He is not our permanent drummer but we have enjoyed the time we have spent as a band, talking music and recording this record.
