Playing over 100 live shows at venues including Arlene's Grocery (New York, NY), The Marina Hotel (Long Beach, CA) Jello Martini Lounge (Montreal, QC) and The Rainbow (Ottawa, ON), Simpson uses a diversely eclectic pool of influences to build an energetic, layered performance.
Building booming anthems about seeing contrast and collective uncertainty, Simpson channels classical roots, an upbringing including Tom Waits and Dire Straits and a love of both electric and acoustic guitar. Tied together with lyrics including “The potency of your impatience is turning me off" and “Got a tambourine soul and a record heart" connect her audience through a personal and expansive experience.
Called the "Female Bob Dylan" by IAE Magazine (2010) and accepted to Berklee College of Music for Vocal and Music Business for Spring 2011 Elyse's love for the industry as well as the craft adds a passionate severity within her development.
