Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Demsky has been perfecting his unique style of songwriting with help from the people that inspire him every day, his friends and family. For the past decade, Demsky has played all across Canada and the Northeastern region of the States with the likes of Vanderpark, Fried Dough and The Boo.
2010 turned out to be a year of growth and time well spent on the making of his first ever EP ‘The Man with the Kite’. A blend of Song-writer friendly tunes, mixed with an electronic rhythmic backdrop. The title was chosen after reading Aldous Huxley’s book, ‘Island’ - a passage of which Demsky found particularly inspiring:
"The man with the kite?" Will was puzzled. "He does his work down here," she explained; "but he holds a string in his hand, and at the other end of the string is a kite, and the kite is forever trying to go higher, higher, Higher. Even while he's at work, he feels the constant Pull from Above, feels the Spirit tugging insistently at the flesh. Think of it! A man of affairs, a great Captain of Industry—and yet, for him, the only thing that Really Matters is the Immortality of the Soul."
Lessons of love, loss, choices, perseverance, devotion, and adaptability are some of the themes on 'The Man With The Kite'.
