Trevor here, lead guitar player for Decadent Sound.
Here is a quick band bio. Kirk and I, along with two other members formed this band in October of 2007 for a talent show at our old school. After the show we decided to stick together because we had had a good time playing together, coupled with good audience feedback. We started learning more covers, and looking for an actual signer, because our singer for the show had been temporary and… not exactly what we wanted. After a while, we invited Matt to come out and try to take the vocals position. He had also been in the talent show, and unknown to us before hand, he could sing. We also had another friend of ours come do some backing. We began learning more covers and working on writing our own songs, before we got a spot in a local battle of the bands contest. After coming first place, we felt pretty confident with our music. We then volunteered to perform for another school event, raising money for the Burns Bog Society. After this show however, our rhythm guitar player became disinterested and eventually we parted ways with him. It was about the same time that our Bass player announced he was going to leave for Musicians Institute resulting in us having to find a new Bass player, and our back-up vocalist became unnecessary and he became over worked and couldn't really align his schedule with ours. Fortunately, Matt could play guitar, so he took over the rhythm section as well as maintained vocals, and we brought on Wade as our new bass player. We always love playing any shows we can, and love to have fun on stage
(Most people can tell by some of the things we do while on it; what's a show without band tricks?). For now we are just looking for some shows to play and get our name out there. We have sort of a Funk Rock groove to us because one of my main influences is Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme so many of the guitar riffs sound like something he might play, while Matt and Wade are Red Hot Chili Peppers fans (Wade is also really into Dream Theater), and Kirk brings a more heavier rock element with his interest in metal and Zepplin. Wade, Myself, and Matt are also planning to attend the Musicians Institute school down in California. Keep an eye out for us.
