In December 2007 CODA started tracking their full length album MAE DAE with Jon Paul Peters at Private Ear Recordings in Winnipeg. The band had worked with Peters before when he mixed their November 19 demo recorded at High North Studio’s. The goal was to have little difference between their live performance and the album. The album featured eleven original tracks and art work by the bands very own Mike Smoljanovic. CODA was pleased to invite Kiera Fullerton and Rachel Moody from the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra to perform all the string arrangements present in the songs; “Mae Dae”, “November 19” and “Face Down”. Mastering was completed by Allan Douches at West West Side Music in New York. On November 21 2008 the album was released and distributed independently through Indie Pool in Toronto. MAE DAE became available at iTunes, HMV, and Amazon. CODA held a local album release party at The Zoo. The release was a success bringing out more than three hundred people and selling more than one hundred albums that night alone.
CODA and their debut album MAE DAE have been well received all over the world, with over 1,500 sales in the first year and now selling more than 3,500 copies, electronically and physically. CODA has now turned their attention to writing new music and expanding their reach of musical influence as far as possible.
Coda is set to begin filming for a full length live DVD with special "in studio" bonus features along with performance footage from Varadero, Cuba.
