Biography

Small towns and big city lights. Six strings and insight. A JD martini stirred with a hunting knife.... we are the music's life. Country meets Metal and the rock that lay between. Dirty Jazz and Blues pizzazz we gentle-folk get mean. We like to make the ladies move to the beating of our scene. We are a balance, and we could play pretty much anywhere there is a need for a good time, or wanting to hear something new, creative and exciting. Dowin Tufaulk-Stampy and Landon Dault grew up in the small towns north of Muskoka. They played, wrote and performed together off and on for a few years. Stampy moved to Toronto in 2003 where he became involved, and created 3 different music projects. A Rock-Pop/Singer Songwriter style band (Rings of June) and "Basement Arms" was the second project and consisted of a "Jam Band with Psych sounds. The third project was known with different names. "Star Map Caravan" was the band of recording artists, "Stamp Alive" was more of the solo shows, but essentially it all fell under the name "Stamp n Stars" (There will be another Stamp n Stars album to be released in 2012). Landon Dault became involved with Scott Marshall, Brad Jackson, and three other members in a full out 6 piece creative Gypsie/Hippy Rock band named "The Colour Neves". From there the band evolved and re-named themselves "Dead By 31", which took on a direction with more distortion. Dead By 31 is currently recording and performing in Ontario. Landon plays the cooler instruments like the Banjo, Slide, and a sweet telecaster guitar. Scott Marshall is not only a talented guitar and bass player, but also at the stem of the tech and sound department for the band(s). Scott fills backing vocals as well as plays the didjureedoo from time to time. He likes explosives too. Brad Jackson is the man that holds it together. Druming since he was a wee lad, he likes to mix it up with different styles, but drive it home all the same. Mostly he wants to see the ladies move..... but sometimes he just eats glass
